Government questioned on its commitment to support overseas British military veterans

Today, Margaret Ferrier, Independent MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West, challenged the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Oliver Dowden, on the government’s plans to support the 60,000 British military veterans who have had their pensions frozen.

Military veterans living in countries with no reciprocal arrangement with the UK are left facing financial hardship despite years of providing service to their country, as well as making National Insurance contributions.
