The APPG on Frozen British Pensions will meet on Tuesday 21 March 2017 to discuss its campaigns against the Up-rating Regulations and for EU resident expats.
APPG ON FROZEN BRITISH PENSIONS
MEETING TO DISCUSS THE UP-RATING REGULATIONS
AND EU RESIDENT EXPAT PENSION RIGHTS
Tuesday 21 March 2017, 15:30-16:30, Committee Room 17
The Government is expected to bring forward the Social Security Benefit Up-Rating Regulations 2017 any day now. This is the S.I. that is used to freeze overseas state pensions for another year.
The negotiations that will follow the triggering of Article 50, will determine the future state pension rights of British expats across the continent. Many are now living in fear of a frozen pension.
These are important issues for the APPG and we have therefore decided to hold a meeting next week to coordinate our campaigning activity on both these matters.
1. Frozen Pension Campaign update
2. Challenging the Social Security Benefit Up-rating Regulations 2017
a. in the Commons
b. in the Lords
3. Campaigning for the preservation of EU resident expat pension rights in the context of the Brexit negotiations
The meeting is open to members of both Houses and their staff.
External guests are also welcome by prior agreement. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
