The APPG on Frozen British Pensions met for the first time in the new parliament on 14 July.
The agenda included the formal election of Officers, with Sir Roger Gale MP remaining as Chairman, Sir Peter Bottomley MP remaining as Treasurer, Labour’s Yasmin Qureshi and the SNP’s Ian Blackford elected as officers and Lord German re-elected as a Lib Dem Vice Chair and lead representative of the group in the House of Lords.
The APPG received an update from the Chairman on the past activities of the group, from the International Consortium of British Pensioners on their campaigning and discussed priorities for the year ahead.
Continuing the progress made in discussion with the government during the last parliament, the group determined to focus on securing partial uprating for frozen pensioners in the 2016 budget as its key aim for the year ahead and discussed some of the activities that might help realise that goal.
